Working in oil paint on canvas I am exploring the relationships of figures or still life objects to each other and their surroundings. I am interested in the dynamics between people or shapes, and the spaces where they exist. My inspiration comes from many sources, my own family photos and found images are starting points. So is a table in my garden with beautiful light and shade. These are the beginnings of the painting journey for me, each one is different and surprising.

My ceramics are hand built from porcelain and mid fire clays. They have two firings in the kiln and are hand painted or hand brushed with three coats of glaze. Each piece is one of a kind, unique with my forms and marks. I want to tell stories with clay and glaze, connecting to my figurative painting practice, and often just expressing how beautiful the clay can be.
